Marcus van Klink has inherited a 1:08.5 lead over second place Jeff Ward, after Michael Tall failed to complete the stage. Tall stopped 5km into the stage, while Zeal Jones ended his day with an off road excursion at 11.8km. Meanwhile, Scott Simpson was forced to withdraw after Service B with a blown Diff. All Crews OK.
With only the Tarmac Super Special to run for day one, Klink and Ward are now followed by Bruce Herbert (+2:06.4 from Ward), Caleb MacDonald (+2.7) and Brian Green (+9.0).
