Paddon wins stage by 48.7 seconds as the battles for second and third; fourth and fifth rage on in his wake.
Former NZRC Champion Ben Hunt, currently third overall, has further cut into Pettigrew's overnight gap... albeit by just 1.81 seconds over 29km. Pettigrew holds on to second place with a healthy 34.5 second buffer. Both competitors were beaten in stage by fourth and fifth placed Raana Horan and Emma Gilmour, with Raana pipping the local driver by just 1.7 seconds.
Meanwhile, overnight sixth place holder Jack Hawkeswood has managed just 4km of the stage, coming off the road (Crew OK) at the same point as Olympian Sarah Walker had earlier.
