Second Placed Tom Bond, who set an impressive pace in SS9, has stopped 12.9km into the Berwick 1 test. This leaves Smith with a 59.2 second lead over second placed Paul Cross, who finished Berwick 19.6 seconds faster than Smith. James Macdonald remains on the charge, with a time 56.9 seconds faster than Smith. Due to problems yesterday Macdonald still has a mountain to climb, with a deficit of 2:03.1 to make up over just 5 more competitive stages. Olympian Sarah Walker and Ian Latham also had off-road excursions on the stage.
