With local ex-WRC star Hayden Paddon now over three and a half minutes ahead of the pack, Ari Pettigrew has been the picture of consistency in his ex-Greg-Murphy Holden Barina AP4. Driving older tech than the chasing pack, Pettigrew continues to drive a brilliant rally, currently holding off nearest competitor Ben Hunt by 42.4 seconds overall. Hunt could only manage a fourth-fastest time through the 23km Fort Hill stage west of Waihola. Third in the stage went to a charging Emma Gilmour, intent on removing Raana Horan from fourth place. Managing to best Horan by 12.4 seconds, Gilmour more than halved her deficit, needing just another 12 seconds to take Horan's place behind the top three.
